Becoming Who God Created You

In July of 2009, God gave our founder a vision to launch a ministry called New Covenant Church of God in Christ. Its purpose was to be a bridge between the old traditions of church and new believers who knew nothing about God. From it, birthed a small group of believers and new converts with a mission to add to the Kingdom of God. After a couple of years in Tempe, AZ, the ministry took a time for evaluation, resetting and relaunched in July of 2013. In three years the ministry grew from 12 to nearly 300 in average attendance each Sunday. In the fourth and fifth year of ministry, God began a complete overhaul and redefinition of the Ministry.

From that refined vision, our Pastor was led to change the ministry name to Redemption Life Center. The name change was to encourage and reaffirm that “No One Is Beyond God’s Reach.” Since the renaming of the ministry, Redemption has become a hub of growth for new converts, hungry believers and a place of training for those who have been called to ministry beyond the four walls. In 2019, Redemption shifted from its denominational affiliation to a non-denominational approach to ministry and faith. It’s imperative to our ministry to contour our ministry approach to show that all ethic and cultural backgrounds are welcomed.

Redemption has grown into a ministry with a world-wide reach the in-person and online worship initiatives. We are active in our community through community feeding, resource distribution and social activism. We believe we are called to minister to more than just the spiritual, but rather, minister to the whole man- Spiritual, Physical, Mental and Emotional. We accomplish this though various ministries and support groups within our local body.

Supt. Earnest Fitzhugh, II

Earnest Fitzhugh, II, has been preaching since his teens and has been in pastoral ministry since 2009. His preaching ministry started at 17 years old and he was licensed at age 19. A year later, he was ordained as an elder by the late Bishop LeRoy Robert Anderson. He served as an associate elder of Higher Ground Church of God in Christ in Phoenix, AZ, where his father is pastor, until the founding and launch of New Covenant Church of God in Christ in September of 2009. Despite significant challenges, God has blessed Pastor Fitzhugh to restructure a relaunch of the church in 2013. With a new found clarity to the assignment of the church, the name was changed to Redemption Life Center. Redemption has become a hub of transition and growth for all people, regardless of their past difficulties, current disposition or cultural background.

Pastor Fitzhugh is a native of Phoenix, Arizona. His college course of study and largest portion of employment history is in the area of Law. He’s built and owned multiple successful businesses and has a true heart for entrepreneurship. He believes that the increase in the economics for the member will inevitably increase the economics of the church at large.

Pastor Fitzhugh has a God given grace for ministry development and marketing as it relates to this generation of believer. An effective communicator and teacher of God’s Word, Pastor Fitzhugh is widely known for his practical and dynamic teaching style which helps people apply the timeless truths of Scripture to their everyday lives. Pastor Fitzhugh has traveled various places teaching his Kairos Leadership Program. A program designed to assist churches/leadership in assess its current efficacy as it relates to conversion and retention of new believers.

He and his wife, Lady Rey, married in December of 2018. They proudly parent four children, Derrez, Earnest III, Anniyah and Jaden. Pastor Fitzhugh often says, “where I am today, makes everything I went through, worth it. All things really do work together for the good.”
